Don't be Greedy

Last Friday was our epic house party. I think that it surpassed my expectations completely. First off, we had TWO bands play. Both bands seemed pretty into the atmosphere and so that definitely makes it fun.  After wards, Mr. Tyler set up shop as the make-shift DJ. What a lovely gentleman.

Daniel Francis Doyle (Austin) Caw! Caw! (Chicago)

So, the party...

I was trashed. I'll fully admit to that... But I do need to bitch about one thing. Someone stole my full unopened bottle of Tequila that my mother gave me. Yeah, greedy motherfuckers.

I know, I know, things get stolen, I shouldn't bitch. I guess I just trust people too much. Yeah, its a house party and shit gets stolen and broken, but this is our 5th or 6th house party and nothing has ever been stolen.  Plus, I'm just amazed at people's greediness. Its not enough that we provide 5 gallons of death punch, plus jello shots. Doesn't everyone know the house rules - Never take drinks from on top of the fridge, and if you do, at least open it and SHARE.  So, if you hear of someone drinking some delicious tequila. Holla at me.  Ha. I know I was yelling about kicking someone's ass.

I'm going to start rolling like that.
This was also the first party where the cops came, and where someone yelled about having a gun in their pants. Ha. The cops came because of people loitering at their cars, Bailey and I spoke to them, and they ended up congratulating me on my graduation. How nice of the officers.

I'd also like to thank all my beautiful friends for drinking my drink and dancing their little hearts out with me. :)
I love all of you

Girls can't have tattoos

So every once and a while someone says to me, "What are you going to do about your tattoos when you're old and wrinkly?"
I always smile and say that I'll have awesome stories to tell my grandchildren. Honestly though, it gets annoying.. I'm not the first person to get tats and I'm certainty not the last. The people who started the tattoo revolution have now gotten old and wrinkly, and I doubt they regret any of their tattoos. Well, they might regret the name of a lover, but  that servers as a warning to everyone: Never get the name of a lover tattooed on you. Unless, their dead or something. Women have been getting tattoos as long as the men have, and I have a few awesome pictures to prove it.

I'm not a white girl.

(This post is not intended to offend anyone)

So, the other night I hung out with some new people. Theres one other girl, and she takes it upon herself to grill me. That's fine. I'm a big girl and I can take it.  Heres a rundown of our conversation:

Girl: So whats your background? What are you?
Me: Mexican and Indian.
Girl: What kind of Indian?
Me: Cherokee and a little Creek
Girl: Oh, so you're a white Indian?

Her reasoning for calling me a 'white' Indian is that Cherokees get a lot of help from the government. So basically, she was jealous.  Cherokees walked the trail of tears just like every other Indian. Later she said  that she was referring to the blonde girls who claim to be Cherokees, not necessarily me. Uh Huh...Sure...

It went down hill from there, from then on she would randomly say things like 'I like you, you act like a white girl' When I would question her about her statement and explain that its racist and that I'm NOT a white girl, she would just say that white girls are quiet and don't cause drama. WHAT???
It was awful, by the end of the whole experience I just let her move her mouth, cause I was not listening. If you want to be a ignorant bitch and judge me because I'm not Mexican or Indian enough for you, then so be it.
Let your ignorance flag wave high.

Long Long ago..

My first real boyfriend's birthday was a couple days ago. He turned 24. Which makes me feel a little old, but it aging is a part of life. Anyways, I told him happy birthday through FB. We probably haven't had a real conversation in over 2 years. Since FB told me it was his birthday, I felt obligated to say 'Happy Birthday'.
He commented my comment (what happened to wall-to-wall conversations, I miss those) and asked about my life. I must confess, that it felt amazing to say that I had graduated from OU last Saturday.

Relationships are so weird, and you never really know where you'll end up in their life. Will you be sitting next to them at church when your 80? Will you be calling to get child support when its late every month? Or will you slowly forget the life you had created with them?
I feel despondent at times, but honestly, I'd love again. And I'm just waiting...

Sexiness for everyone from Glow Berlin on Vimeo.

I really like this commercial for this intimate apparel brand. I found the website, but alas its only available in German. Well, you could use Google translator but i'm sure the shipping price would be ridiculous. My opinion on Burqas is really simple, a woman should be able to wear what she wants. End of Story. The key part of that statement is what the woman WANTS. Not what some government, (France) tells her she should not wear, or what men tell her she should wear. Some people believe that Burqas or other head wraps are oppressive, and I think that can be the case in some situations. I believe that in general the women choose to wear them for reasons that are connected to spirituality and religion, not because they'll feel pressured into wearing it.

Summer luvin

My time is set for when I'm leaving Norman. As of now, August 1.I'm not sure if it will stay that way, or if I'll just say fuck it and never leave. Actually, I know that I'll leave. I know with every fiber of my being that I'm going to move. Norman has been very good to me. I love Norman and everything that it has to offer. I just don't want to put roots here.

GRADUATION FEELS SURREAL.  Its less than a week a way, and I'll be an adult. That's how it works right? So for the summer, I plan on looking for jobs in Florida and partying a lot. I've got to get it out of my system. Well, 90% of it needs to be out of me. My summer plans include:
1-Graduation Party (there will be a FB event, you're invited kittens!)
3-Go back to Muskogee to see an old wonderful friend
4-Mend all my clothes
5-Possibly babysit some children during all of this
7-Lady Gaga
8-Wait for my friends to come back from over seas

I love love love this new video from Beyonce. It's like late 1960's fashion on steroids. And of course Beyonce brings it.

Extra Credit

I have attended numorous events for extra credit.
1) 10+ Zumba Classes- during the zumba classes I have lost some weight and grown more confident in myself.
2) WS Lunches- I have attended the Women's Studies lunches once a month
3)Dr. Drew speech- I attended the event where Dr. Drew spoke about various subjects, including hooking up in college, and abusing prescription medicine. Dr. Drew felt that hooking up should be more accepted and that using prescription meds should be less accepted.

Sunday's Topic: Religion

This was found on a rather clever blog. Jesus always by your side..

I think these are hilarious.  Jesus is such an odd concept to me. Growing up in Oklahoma has certainty had an impact on my opinion of religion, particularly Christianity.  Yeas ago, I questioned the validity of Jesus and God. I think that I believe in something, a supreme being. Its just not Jesus Christ. I refuse to believe that God who is so generous, and giving would condemn every Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, and many others to hell just for believing in something with the same type of faith as Christians.  I honestly think its that simple. Oh, also the bible is pretty ridiculous. This is just my opinion about these issues, and I could certainly be wrong, and could go to hell if I don't change my ways. But, if the bible is word for word, or even if its interpretation; since I accepted Jesus years ago it still counts. I just have to ask him to forgive me for my sins before I die.
