Women want to be dazzled.

It doesn't matter which century your in, there are still certain things that should be done and somethings that should be avoided when your courting someone.

Take last thursday for instance:

I went to see a boy in Tulsa. This boy gets really mad, when I refer to him as a boy. The reason I still call him, a boy is because, he really doesn't have his shit together..... at all.
He's a 25 year old graduate. I know, a college graduate! But, hes pretty much stuck. Which, I'm sure happens to most people.

So before I get there, he tells me that were going to an Art Show that night. So I pack all my cute shit. I get there and we go grocery shopping....then while grocery shopping we both complain about being hungry. While leaving the grocery store, without any prior questions about dinner he pulls into Sonic. UGH. I HATE SONIC. I politily tell him, that I dislike sonic. But we stay....and eat 1 dollar hamburgers.
I tell myself to forgive him, because hes poor (even though hes a manager) and that tonight were going out. Well, 930 rolls around, then 1130 and were still sitting at home. The phone call from his friend just never came.

Look, guys.... I understand your broke, and this and that.....but at least, try just a little. I will forgive lots, and look over things, but driving 4 hours, 8 dollars in toll, 25 in gas for that night....

I'll pass.

And I want this apron.

Deletion

I'm about to let go, I'm about to let go of something near and dear to my heart....... mypace. I'm about to delete my account.
After, I save all of my blogs.
And my pictures.

Then deletion. Because, honestly, why do I have one anyways? I don't believe it does me any good.

I've been meaning to write something for quite some time...but of course, something more important always surfaces...also lately, I've been turning to my tried and true real journal.

But now, nevermind. I'm just going to dive into my past...I'll post an oldie.
It's kinda of sad. This is almost a year old. I'm happy though, that Obama is in office though.

Dear Iraq,

They have made a mess out of you while I and others watched, like tombs

But what could we do? Voting didn't help, nor protesting

Not showing your dying children on TV nor placing horrific war pictures on the web

We stood still, and watched and we were torn apart

-Weam Namou (Was born as a minorty Christian in Baghdad, Iraq, and came to the United States at the age of ten. She is the author of The Feminine Art and The Mismatched Braid )

Its important to remember the war in Iraq, and remember that the Iraq people are not happy, with 96,719 civilian casualties, who would be? Our military casualties are 4186, which is way too much.

This war has to end. It has to end now, please make sure your family and friends know the facts about the canidates and are voting aware.

Back to what I know...

I find myself often talking about boys. Honestly, right now, its what needs to be discussed.

So, Lil Boy, ugh, where to begin on this one?
Number one, we met at a party, I got his number. I did this rather bluntly, and he seemed interested. Well, since that moment, I've hung out with him once.
Most conversations (text) with him are as follows:

Lil Boy: Sup?
Me: Not much. you?
Lil Boy: Chillen.

Silence... Hence, his nickname, Lil Boy. He doesn't know how to get past those words.

The Dealer.
I've been eying this boy for quite some time. I didn't even know his name until recently. Well, I had a party at my house last sat. and he was in attendance. We hung out and again, he seemed interested. He asked for my number, not the other way around. When I finally hear from him, its simply business. Fine, I'll play along. But towards the end of our transaction, I casually say something about hanging out, and he brushes it off, then as he rides his bike away (since he doesn't own a car) he turns and says 'I want to remain mysterious'... hahahaha.

Anyways, I hope someone gets a kick out these ridiculous boys.

I'll find my match eventually.

Airplanes..

Its been a while.. A lot has happened. Stuff always happens.
Instead of rambling on and on about the "stuff", I have a few things to say about religion.

So, before every take off, I cross myself. Just making a large cross from head to mid-chest and then from shoulder to shoulder. I ask myself, why... I don't attend church. I do not believe in the catholic religion. But a small part of me, must feel safer about the flight. As if, I've done my part, and if we crash, perhaps I'll go to....heaven?

I want to believe, I really do. So many people believe, and they have such strong convictions. I respect them for those convictions, even if I disagree.

Heres so cute art:

How free are we?

Maybe its just me, but I feel that Oklahomans are really not that free. Not just Oklahomans, but the South in general. Southerners care about their image....really care about their image. Any thing that is out line, or out step with normality is viewed abnormal, and in which case is to be avoided, and even not talked about. Sex, is one of those items.

Oklahoma has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the country, actually we are number 8...

8 out of 50. Christ.

So yeah, we need to talk about sex.

Let's talk about sex baby, Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things,
And the bad things that may be
Let's talk about sex x4

Let's talk about sex for now to the people
at home or in the crowd
It keeps coming up anyhow
Don't decoy avoid or make void the topic
Cuz that ain't gonna stop it
Now we talk about sex on the radio
and video shows
Many will know anything goes
Let's tell it how it is, and how it could be
How it was, and of course, how it should be
Those who think it's dirty have a choice
Pick up the needle, press pause, or turn the radio off
Will that stop us, Pep? I doubt it
All right then, come on, Spin

(CHORUS)
Hot to trot, make any man's eyes pop
She use what she got to get whatever she don't got
Fellas drool like fools,
but then again they're only human
The chick was a hit because
her body was boomin'
Gold, pearls, rubies, crazy diamonds
Nothin' she ever wore was ever common
Her dates heads of state, men of taste
Lawyers, doctors, no one was too great
for her to get with
Or even mess with, the Prez
she says was next on her list
And believe me, you, it's as good as true
There ain't a man alive
that she couldn't get next to
She had it all in the bag
so she should have been glad
But she was mad and sad
and feelin' bad
Thinkin' about the things that she never had
No love, just sex, followed next
with a check and a note
That last night was dope

Let's talk about sex, baby (sing it)
Let's talk about you and me (sing it, sing it)
Let's talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let's talk about sex (come on)
Let's talk about sex (do it)
Let's talk about sex (uh-huh)
Let's talk about sex

Ladies, all the ladies, louder now, help me out
Come on, all the ladies - let's talk about sex! All right
(repeat)
{Yo, Pep, I don't think they're gonna play this on the radio
And why not? Everybody has sex
I mean, everybody should be makin' love
Come on, how many guys you know make love?}

(CHORUS)

Talking about it, is the first step to acknowledging it.

Young people will have sex, and we should prepare them so they can make informed decisions.

So, I'm rallying my fellow Oklahomans to hit up our senators and representives... tell them that you support Comprehensive Sex Ed, or the R. E. A. L. act. (I have previously talked about this before, but felt like I needed to elaborate on the issue)

Lobbying on the HILL

(closest i got to Obama)

I came home and went to bed, around 7 p.m. and I just now woke up. Wow, its been a while since I've slept for 15 hours. It makes me feel like a teenager. :)

So the amazing trip:

The whole trip was such a learning experience, I met new people, learned new ideas and tried lots of new things. Everyday of the conference we learned about certain subjects, leadership, communication, ect. We had the nights free, which is when we roamed DC. I absolutely adore DC, beautiful city. Thursday we lobbied on the hill, and oh, jesus, was that nerve racking.

We're lobbying for a bill called the R.E.A.L. act which would be the first ever federally funded comprehensive sex education. We were asking for 50 million, abstinence currently gets 200 million. So, we just wanted a small portion. This act is amazing, its still abstinence based, but it teaches kids about everything else... I talked with a member of Tom Cole's staff, and she was pretty nice, and James Inhofe's staff, and he was a douche. He was checking his blackberry every five minutes, and we were only in there for about 10 min.

Then the icing on the cake was actually meeting with Tom Coburn. There were 4 girls present for this meeting, and only Molly (choice USA staff) and I spoke. The other girls froze. I don't blame them, he was very intimidating. He actually pulled out the pocket constitution within 5 minutes of our meeting, asking us if we were familiar with it. It was ridiculous. Essentially he wouldn't vote for the bill because he believes its a state matter, and not a national matter. Apparently, he didn't vote for the abstinence bill either. At the end of it, I asked for a picture.

I feel very proud to have met with my leaders on this issue. It's something that I'm passionate about, and feel like this is where I'm supposed to be in life, almost as if I've found my calling.

You say bitter, I say realistic

I feel as if I have much to say, but I'm tired of being a broken record. My life doesn't seem chaotic, it seems simple, and easy. I'm happy, and I love the people in my life. Really what else matters?

Its important to remember things like that. Although, someone very close and dear to my heart is away right now.

I miss my sister.

Its funny how connected you can become with one person once you open up and let them inside. Funny, how I haven't been able to do that with a boy, since, well.....Nick. Yeah, I would say Nick was the last guy that truly knew me. He was my first for a lot of things. Now, hes living in Georgia, and has a baby with girl who works as a bartender. Ha. Maybe they're happy, I wish them happiness.

Maybe you can be happy with just a man and a baby.

I can't. I need more. Maybe down the road, I'll have a child. But I don't plan on being married to the father. I'll be like Selma Hayek when she just had the child of the billionaire but wouldn't marry, they lived in separate cities. Her in New York and him in Paris, ahhh, that would be sweet. Although, important factors are in that equation: MONEY and TRUST.

I do know one thing for fucking sure.... I will be the hippie mother who puts her child in a bee outfit. :)

A conversation overheard at Bonnaroo 06'

A mother and son(about 4 yrs. old) are walking back to their tent and they pass a man selling some pipes

Son: I want to stop...
Mother: No, come on.
S: What are those, mommy?
M: Those are pipes, used for smoking Marijuana, but we don't do that....
-As they start to walk away-
S: But I saw daddy with one of those...

Ahh, that made me smile.

Men need clear instuctions....

Hmm....So, apparently everything needs to be laid out for men.
Nothing should be assumed. I thought that possibly, maybe I was a bitch for telling these boys how they should treat girls, but according to that guy, I'm not.
Thank god.

Cause, guys seem to need a lot help. Case in point: Guys come over to hang out with me and my younger sister, were eating pizza and whatnot. Well these boys have not had to get up to get anything, we got everything for them. (Maybe that was our first problem) But at the end of our meal, I asked "The Stoner" if he would put our plates up, his repronse ," Already?"
Implying that I was already asking him to do things....I got pissed off, and just put the plates up myself, then he went off saying how he was joking and what not.
My sister just gives him a dirty look, and he says to her, "well, its only our second date"
And her fucking response: "Doesn't matter, you should already be treating her like a princess"

Ahhh, I love her.
But its true, I mean, if your not polite, and helpful now......are you really going to change?

I'm not holding my breath.

You know the media could have something to do with the current state of men, and their respect level....maybe they just think you can buy her something shiny to make her forget your asshole ways.

Wakaka

So I'm leaving for wakarusa in like 12 hours. Totally excited. I really don't have much to say, except I plan on partying super hard for 3 days. Don't expect to hear from me.

I leave you with a pretty awesome dancing video.
